Cinema 4D Matrix Pyrocluster Particles

I have released my next brain melting tutorial on Maxon's Cinema 4D Matrix Particles. This is not a lesson you would find anywhere else, because it is completely unique. The topic, an advanced use of the Cinema 4D Mograph Matrix object. Why? Because this object can be used on a multitude of tasks. I will showcase it primarily as a Thinking particles generator; without Xpresso editing, without nodes, without an external plugin or any other advanced stuff. We will combine this powerful particle system with an old Pyrocluster engine to produce a pretty cool effect. (When you know how to use this, you can apply it to other systems.) One of the gifts of Visual Effects would be to create complicated looking effects quickly. This lesson is extremely important in showing how to take it to the ultimate next level. Chapter Descriptions

The System Description: A cloud. The first chapter demonstrates all techniques and setups we will need and it´s split it into two main parts. The first part explains exactly how the Matrix object works as a Thinking particle generator, how to use Mograph effectors, CINEMA 4D deformers and how to setup the Pyrocluster effect as well. The second part of the chapter is dedicated to the first hero of the lesson. We will learn how to build a perfect looking cloud shape from any source/base shape you like. It will have a car shape on our example, but you can generate your own. The toolset workflow will be the same. The Matrix object will be the most important object of the setup as it will generate Thinking particles and this particle cloud will be visualized by the PyroCluster effect.

The Main Hero Of The Lesson: A TORNADO The second chapter is much more complex. It's a nice looking tornado effect generated with a C4D particle emitter, Matrix, deformers, and Thinking particles generated by Matrix and Pyrocluster. You will learn how to build a complex volumetric system and combine many effects and features together. With particle system simulations, you may want to see a static frame many iterations deep. For example you may want to see the state of the effect 1000 frames into the simulation. I will teach you a very clever method to achieve this without having to watch every frame render.

Rigging And Outro The last chapter demonstrates how to rig the tornado system and how to animate it. The animation itself is based on a deformer approach, but we will show how to adjust the deformer influence by a simple XPresso setup as well. The end of the chapter describes a special simple deformer created that is able to control the tornado system effectively.
